Each fashion month, we don’t just get excited about the clothes — we look forward to seeing the makeup looks from our favorite beauty brands, too. Playing a pivotal role, here are some of the renowned brands that designers collaborated with this season to elevate their runway shows.
Pat McGrath & Bottega Veneta
Described as “the most influential makeup artist in the world” by Vogue, Pat McGrath is a mogul in fashion and beauty, and one of the most sought-after artists for top designers each season. For Bottega Veneta’s Milan runway, she used her Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection The System, Skin Fetish: Highlighter + Balm Duo, Skin Fetish: Blurring Under-Eye Powder, Luminous Legends: Mega Eye Shadow Palette, PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil and Lip Fetish Sheer Colour Balm.
Bobbi Brown & Proenza Schouler
Bobbi Brown’s makeup for Proenza Schouler’s SS25 show at NYFW showcased 90s minimal beauty, part of their “Polished Grunge” edit. The new line was created by by their Global Artistic Director Hannah Murray. Many looks featured the new Cream Glow Highlighter, designed to achieve a “90s-inspired sporty glow with just a few taps on cheeks.” They also created 90s-inspired smokey eyes using the Long-Wear Cream Shadow & Kohl Liner, a dual-ended shadow and liner stick.
Omorovicza & Nanushka
Hungarian skincare brand Omorovicza partnered with Hungarian fashion label Nanushka as the official skincare sponsor for their New York Fashion Week SS25 show. All products feature a patented biotech formula that encapsulates 26 essential minerals from the ancient healing waters of Budapest. Before the show, all models recieved a deep cleanse using the brand’s Thermal Cleansing Balm, followed by a spritz of the Queen of Hungary Mist and the Queen Essence. The star of the routine was their new Soothing Salve, unveiled at the show and launched this week. They finished with the Perfecting Lip Balm.
Isamaya Beauty & Mowalola
Isamaya Ffrench has become the fashion world’s go-to for otherworldly looks. For example, she did Charli XCX’s glam for the last Met Gala. With her own brand, Isamaya Beauty, Ffrench worked on the Mowalola show at London Fashion Week this season. She showcased lips done with her VANITY Water Balm, a sheer black glaze.
The Ordinary & KNWLS
Thomas de Kluyver did the makeup for KNWLS, using skincare products by The Ordinary for prep. Known for their effective yet simple and reasonably priced treatments, it’s cool to see such an accessible brand being used.
Prada Beauty & Prada
Prada used their own beauty line, Prada Beauty, at their womenswear show in Milan. Global Creative Makeup Artist Lynsey Alexander led the makeup team, featuring key products like Prada Balm in Astral Pink and Prada Monochrome in Ultraviolet. According to their Instagram, “Prada Refine Primer and Prada Reset Powder were used to prepare, moisturize and mattify all beauty looks.”
Pat McGrath & Versace
In addition to many of the products used at Bottega, McGrath also added her Divine Cream Blush: Legendary Glow Color Balm, Dramatique Mega Lip Pencil ‘FLESH 3’ and Dark Star Mascara for Versace SS25. She shared on Instagram, “This season the makeup at Versace is very fresh but also very rebellious, so we started with a base of beautiful, spa-fresh skin and added a strong mouth in a deep mahogany brown shade. It’s a way to do nude makeup but with that Versace edge.”
Pat McGrath & Dolce & Gabanna
The highlight of the D&G show? Madonna lookalikes made-up by McGrath were sent down the runway — with the real Madonna sat front row.
Pat McGrath & Saint Laurent
Clearly, McGrath stays busy during fashion month. She also did the Saint Laurent show at Paris Fashion Week. The aim for the show? What the renowned makeup director referred to as “edgy elegance” for their beauty looks this season.
