New Balance has a special place in my heart. They were my go to sneaker as a kid. Ganni is one of my favorite designers and they’ve recently collabed (again) with New Balance for the latest sneaker collab of the summer. The 1906R Originally released all the way back in 2009, over the past year alone, some of streetwear’s biggest names have taken on the Y2K silhouette, including Salehe Bembury and Aimé Leon Dore. Japanese fashion house Comme des Garçons also has a pair in the works, and I can’t wait for that sneaker when it drops!
The New Balance collabs we’ve seen the last few years are nothing short of amazing. Last summer the Danish label Ganni teamed with with the the classic sneaker brand New Balance to take on the 2002R. This time around, they’ve teamed up with the Ganni x New Balance 1906R Collection. The sneaker come in two colorways and are a very clean and functional for everyday wear.
Ganni x New Balance 1906R ‘White’ New Balance
The sneaker was first seen during SS24 runway at Copenhagen Fashion Week. The first of the two colorways is a pretty eggshell white color and has a bold yellow accent throughout. The sneaker features two pull tabs at the top, stacked on top of one another. A highlight of the sneaker is that it’s made from sustainable materials and recycled plastic. The sole of sneaker is made from a cushiony Abzorb for extra comfort.
Ganni x New Balance 1906R ‘Yellow’ New Balance
The bold bright yellow pair of sneakers is definitely a pair I’ll be adding to my sneaker collection! The color is so fun and yellow is one of my favorite colors. These sneakers look perfect paired with a simple pair of denim and a cute baby tee.
The Ganni x New Balance 1906R releases on August 16 at Ganni, New Balance, and select stockists globally. Priced at $170 each and it will also come packed in a special edition shoebox as well. I’ll be wearing these sneakers with oversized denim or a flowy vintage dress.
