You may know Karlie Kloss from her career as a model or her time advocating for girls in STEM with Kode with Klossy. The model turned advocate turned investor is now adding another title to her quickly growing list of accolades: Chief Executive Officer, per the Hollywood Reporter.
After her semi-retirement from modeling, Kloss quietly entered into the world of media. She recently founded Bedford Media, which most notably purchased the majority share of W Magazine and formed a publishing partnership with Bustle Digital Group in 2020.
i-D Magazine will live underneath the Bedford Media umbrella, with Kloss serving as the executive chairwoman. The current Editor-in-Chief, Alastair McKimm, will remain at the helm of the publication as Global Editor-in-Chief. He will also expand on his current title to double as the publications Chief Creative Officer.
Founded by Terry Jones in 1980, i-D magazine is known as a cultural zeitgeist of the underground fashion movement. i-D has lived under the Vice Media umbrella since 2012 when it was purchased by the aforementioned media conglomerate. Vice Media filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year and was acquired in June for $350 million.
