US Open Tennis Stars Are Some of Fashions Biggest Ambassadors

From Carlos Alcaraz for Rolex to Naomi Osaka for Nike x Yoon Ambush, tennis and fashion are currently going hand in hand.

From the jet-setting style of F1 drivers to NFL players tunnel fits and attendance at fashion shows, the crossover between sports and brands has never been more prominent – and now extending to US Open tennis stars.

Designer and Nike’s Global Women’s Curator Yoon Ambush, who recently collaborated with Naomi Osaka, spoke of the overlapping of industries on her Instagram recently. “Designing is an exercise of listening and imagining the story the athlete wants to tell… Often, we see athletes as one-dimensional, tied to their sport, but I get to peel back those layers and explore the different facets of who they are and how they want to present themselves through style.”

In honor of the start of the 2024 US Open Tennis Championship, here’s a list of our favorite players and their current brand ambassadorships.

Carlos Alcaraz Is One Of Rolex’s Biggest Ambassadors

Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz is well on his way to achieving a career grand slam – and sporting a Rolex while doing it. Currently ranked world No. 1 in men’s singles by the ATP, the 21-year-old Spaniard is also an ambassador for the legacy watch brand. Like his world-number-one predecessor, Roger Federer, Alcaraz is frequently seen donning the watch after major wins. For instance, he sported the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona when he won Wimbledon.

Ben Shelton Partners With On Running

Ben Shelton is one of On Running’s biggest global ambassadors. The Florida-born tennis star wears it exclusively when he plays. The next-generation professional secured his role as one of their brand ambassadors at only 21-years-old after his athletics solidified himself as an undeniable one-to-watch.

Jannik Sinner Wears Gucci For His US Open Tennis Matches

Italian athlete Jannik Sinner works with the Florence-based fashion house Gucci as a global brand ambassador. Gucci has been part of the tennis world since the 1970s, when they created the Gucci Tennis 1977 sneaker. Sinners image is now synonymous with the Gucci medium duffle. Their campaign together can be seen on the sides of buildings across the world from Milan to London.

Naomi Osaka Sports Bows for Nike x Yoon Ambush

Naomi Osaka and Yoon Ambush are the talk of the tennis world with their latest Nike collaboration. Ambush recently shared a caption about the look she created for Osaka. The designer stated, “Lolita fashion offers an escape from adulthood, a return to the innocence and beauty of childhood. It’s a doorway to a fantasy world where you can craft an ideal identity that may not fit everyday norms but feels perfect in this imaginative space.” In a nod to Japanese subcultures (where both of them are from), the outfit was made in collaboration with Nike.

US Open Tennis Star Coco Gauff Collaborates With American Eagle

No longer just the tennis worlds starlet, Coco Gauff is entering the world of fashion. With seven career singles titles, including the 2023 US Open, Gauff is the face of American Eagle’s new campaign. The American athlete designed a denim-focused collection with the team under the partnership Coco x AE. The collection is now available online and in select stores.

Taylor Fritz For Tiffany & Co. and Boss

No stranger to influencing (Fritz’s long-time girlfriend is an influencer herself), Taylor Fritz is fashions newest player. The top-ranked American male has three significant collaborations: Tiffany & Co., Chipotle and Boss. The jewelry deal coincides with brand’s pop-up at the US Open, where the brand has designed the Men’s and Women’s Singles Championship Trophies since 1987.
