After a multi-year hiatus following its 2019 cancellation, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returns today at the flagship store on 640 Fifth Avenue in New York City. Under Hillary Super, the former CEO of Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty, the event has undergone a divisive rebrand for 2024. This new version aims for age and size inclusivity, but many still wonder if the company can truly distance itself from its controversial past.
In an Instagram post, the brand stated: “We’ve read the comments and heard you. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love — the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment and more! Stay tuned… it only gets more iconic from here.”
Two major casting announcements feature former angels Adriana Lima and Tyra Banks, who hasn’t walked in a runway show since 2005. Ashley Graham, Paloma Elsesser, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Imann Hammam, Barbara Palvin, Jasmine Tookes, Taylor Hill, Mayowa Nicholas, Devyn Garcia, Gigi Hadid, Grace Elizabeth, Behati Prinsloo and Mia Armstrong will also walk. With many models still unannounced, fans are wondering who else is cast.
The show is famous for its musical guests, which have included Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Rihanna, and Justin Bieber. This year, Cher is headlining alongside Tyla and Lisa from BLACKPINK.
The Pink Carpet, hosted by Olivia Culpo and Telfi, begins at 6:30 PM ET, followed by the show at 7 PM ET. Both will be available to livestream on Prime Video, as well as Victoria’s Secret’s YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.
